MusicTech Meetup is born at SXSW 2011

I first ventured to a little festival known as SXSW in 2009. Walking away with a blown mind, aching feet and more new connections than I ever thought possible, I knew I would be back again. That being said, being absent from this year’s SXSW mayhem put a hole the size of Austin, TX in my heart. Mark my words, “this will be the last time I ever miss this amazing event.” The music, film and technology that comes together in now what is one of my favorite cities, over the course of 2 weeks, is unreal. Epic doesn’t sum it up. Honestly.

Fortunately, my buddies over at Mobile Roadie captured some of the greatness, at their inaugural co-founded event called MusicTech Meetup. So with that said, be prepared to be mesmerized by this video and blog blurb, previously posted on Mobile Roadie’s page a week ago:

MusicTech Meetup - SXSW 2011“At SXSW 2011, several startups came together to produce an event called MusicTech Meetup. Companies included: Mobile Roadie, Topspin, SoundCloud, SongKick, Hypebot, Virb, MXP4, and Music Matters.

During the event, Mobile Roadie conducted interviews with several key voices who are using technology to push fan engagement forward in the music industry. This video is a glimpse into those conversations, and is meant to spark an ongoing dialog around how fans and artists will interact into the future.”
